Alf star Benji Gregory dies at 46

Sitcom actor's body found in his car

Benji Gregory, who played  Brian Tanner in 1980s sitcom Alf has died at the aged of 46.

The actor was a child star of the sitcom, which revolved around a furry alien from the planet Melmac who ends up living with the suburban Tanners family after his spaceship crashes into their garage.

TMZ last night reported that Gregory was found dead in his car at a bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona, on June 13 and that his service dog, Hans, was also found dead in the vehicle.

The actor’s sister, Rebecca, also told the gossip website that her brother suffered from depression and bipolar disorder and had a sleep disorder that often kept him awake for days.

Gregory’s other credits include  The Twilight Zone, voicing Biff Tannen Jr. on the  animated TV spin-off from Back to the Future and the 1986 Whoopi Goldberg comedy Jumpin’ Jack Flash.

He left entertainment in 2003 and enlisted in the US Navy for two years.
