Comics up for 2024 BBC Audio Drama Awards

Best of radio comedy

Jonathan Pie, Janey Godley, Olga Koch and Sarah Keyworth are in line for a BBC Audio Drama Award this year.

Godley, Koch and Keyworth have all been nominated in the best stand-up comedy category for their Radio 4 shows The C Bomb, OK Computer and Are You A Boy Or A Girl? respectively.

Call Jonathan Pie is shortlisted for best sitcom or comedy frama, alongside a new adaptation of Oliver Goldsmith’s 1773 play She Stoops to Conquer by  Barunka O’Shaughnessy for BBC Wales, and the ensemble semi-improvised comedy Where To, Mate?

Set and recorded on location in a car in Manchester, the series was devised by Jo Enright, Peter Slater, Abdullah Afzal, Nina Gilligan, Andy Salthouse, Keith Carter, Jason Wingard and produced by Carl Cooper for BBC Studios Audio.

Call Jonathan Pie was written by Tom Walker, the actor behind the character, and produced by Alison Vernon-Smith for Yada-Yada Audio; while  She Stoops To Conquer was produced by Emma Harding

Godley’s The C Bomb was produced by Julia Sutherland and Richard Melvin for Dabster Productions; Koch’s OK Computer, which she co-wrote with Charlie Dinkin, was produced by Benjamin Sutton for BBC Studios Audio; and Keyworth’s Are You A Boy Or A Girl? had additional material by Ruby Clyde and was produced by Georgia Keating, also for BBC Studios Audio.

Winners will be revealed in a ceremony on Sunday March 24 at Broadcasting House in London.
