Paul Foot announces Soho Theatre residency
Paul Foot has announced a two-week Soho Theatre residency of his acclaimed show Dissolve next February.
The two-week run sits amid the comic’s 65-date UK tour, which kicks off at Arts Depot in Finchley on September 28 and ends on May 17 at Leicester Square Theatre, also in London.
Foot said: ’It’s been overwhelming to discover how much the show has touched people. I’m used to people saying how much they laughed at my shows (and I’m still getting that!) but now I’m also hearing from people about how much it’s affected them emotionally.
‘After one show, a man even rushed the stage. I thought he might be making an assassination attempt but it was just to give me a big hug.
’It’s truly a rollercoaster for me to perform the show, to make people laugh, cry (sometimes), and perhaps think about the world a little differently. And I am so, so excited to bring the show to the Soho Theatre.’
The comic premiered the show at the Edinburgh Fringe last month, where it attracted four- and five-star reviews across the board – including this one from Chortle.
Dissolve – which is co-written and directed by Foot’s long-time collaborator Aaron Kilkenny-Fletcher – runs at Soho Theatre from February 12 to 24. Tickets are on sale now.
