Simon Evans announces 2023 tour
Simon Evans has announced a new tour, speaking about his failing memory at the age of 58.
The Radio 4 regular will play 20 date of Have We Met? this autumn, after debuting the show at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Blurb for the tour says: ‘The fragmentation and disintegration of memory is inevitable as one gets ever deeper into middle age…and a failing memory can be a blessing when we have so much we’d like to quietly forget.
‘But when that collapsing memory encounters a life-long dedication to procrastination and industry standard levels of ADD [attention deficit disorder] coming the other way up the pavement of life, they can easily spend the rest of the day politely unable to get past one another.’
To help audiences fading memory, audiences are asked to take a name tag from the table in the foyer and wear it throughout.
Evans will be at the Assembly Rooms during the Fringe, with the tour kicking off at The Regal, Tenbury Wells, on September 15 and wrapping up at the Alexander in Faversham on November 25.
His TV credits include Live at the Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow – as well as being the only comedian to have appeared on both University Challenge: The Professionals, and Celebrity Mastermind, which he won with thespecialist subject Sir Ernest Shackleton.
