She and her clients join InterTalent, re-establishing a comedy division

Comedy agent Hannah Layton has sold her eponymous company to the larger management firm InterTalent.

She now joins the firm as head of comedy, bringing with her clients including Patrick Kielty, Beardyman, Cally Beaton, Jen Ives, Njambi McGrath and Shazia Mirza.

InterTalent – founded by high-profile agent Jonathan Shalit – previously built a comedy division by acquiring agents Christian Knowles and Corrie McGuire.

But in 2019, Knowles left to set up Blue Book Artist Management for his clients, including Micky Flanagan, as part of rivals DLT Entertainment, while McGuire is again an independent agent.

Last year, DLT also invested in Hannah Layton Management as part of an expansion into the comedy sector that included taking stakes in Gag Reflex, MMB Creative, The Galton Agency, Impatient Productions, The Soho Agency and Andrew Roach Talent.

InterTalent already represents comics include Omid Djalili and Kojo Anim but the arrival of Layton and her clients marks a relaunch of its comedy division.

The company’s managing director, Alex Segal, who previously worked with Layton at scripted talent agency ARG in 2009, said: ‘I’ve known Hannah for 15 years which means we start with a strong, mutual understanding of the goals and ambitions of the company. We pride ourselves on working with the very best storytellers and creatives, and bringing Hannah’s team and her clients into InterTalent is a big next step forward for the company.’

Layton added: ‘I am thrilled to be joining forces with Alex once again, and becoming part of the UK’s leading independent talent agency. With the landscape transforming at a rapid rate it feels like a perfect time to align with InterTalent.’
