ITV acquires The Sex Lives of College Girls
ITV has snapped up the rights to The Sex Lives of College Girls.
The comedy-drama was created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble and was streamed on HBO Max in the US in November.
It follows the lives of four 18-year-old freshmen roommates at the fictional Essex College in Vermont, covering their sexually active lifestyle.
Pauline Chalamet – sister of Timothy – plays one of the central roles, Kimberly, who comes to the multicultural college from small Arizona town that is predominantly white.
Amrit Kaur is Bela, an Indian-American student from New Jersey, who wants to become a comedy writer and is sex-positive; Reneé Rapp is Leighton, an affluent student from New York City who is a closeted lesbian; and Alyah Chanelle Scott is Whitney, a star soccer player from Seattle who is having an affair with her assistant coach and who is the daughter of a US. senator
The series was renewed for a second series a month after the first ten-episode run dropped.
It will air on ITV2 and ITV Hub later this month, although a precise broadcast date has yet to be announced.
