American comedian returns to the UK next year

Mike Birbiglia  has added an extra date at London's Leicester Square Theatre.

The acclaimed American comic will bow be playing there on June 9 and June 10 next year - his first British dates since 2018.

He will be performing his new storytelling show, The Old Man And The Pool, described as ‘a rumination on middle age that celebrates life while making detours into pizza maths, pulmonary tests, and glass jars of peanut M&Ms’ – all triggered by a visit to highly chlorinated YMCA swimming pool.

His previous stand-up shows include  Sleepwalk With Me, My Girlfriend's Boyfriend, Thank God for Jokes, and The New One. The latter two became Netflix specials and The New One scooped the Drama Desk award for outstanding solo performance when it ran on Broadway.

He made the film Don't Think Twice, about an improv comedy group, and appeared in movies including Trainwreck and The Fault in Our Stars.
