Sarah Silverman to host Stupid Pet Tricks
Sarah Silverman is to host an American TV series based on the Stupid Pet Tricks segment from David Letterman’s late-night talk show.
The TBS network has greenlit as a ten-episode, half-hour series in conjunction with Letterman’s production company Worldwide Pants.
The broadcaster’s general manager, Brett Weitz, said: ‘David Letterman is an entertainment legend who changed the face of broadcast history with three simple words "Stupid Pet Tricks".
‘Not just anyone could carry on that legacy, except the wickedly brilliant, Sarah Silverman. I have no doubt that her brand of comedy will bring heart and raw humour in a way that will capture the original heritage of Stupid Pet Tricks and provide hilarious moments for a new generation.’
Silverman added: ‘The rule in showbusiness is, "never work with animals or children’" but I choose to work with David Letterman anyway.’
Each episode features a parade of pets performing ridiculous, impressive, and extraordinary tricks before a live studio audience in order to win the Stupidest Trick of the Week title.
The series also promises games and celebrity guests
