Brighton Comedy Garden still blooms

...but now with social distancing

Brighton Comedy Garden is the latest major stand-up event to confirm it’s going ahead, despite the delay to easing of lockdown.

The event will take place in the open air at  Preston Park from Jul 14 to 18 and feature the likes of Sara Pascoe, Dara Ó Briain, Alan Davies, Aisling Bea, Tom Allen, Nish Kumar and Josh Widdicombe.

However, now the organisers are switching to socially-distanced seating, which they always planned as a contingency.

Latitude, which takes place just days after the hoped-for lifting of restrictions, has said it is confident it will go ahead; while the Cambridge Comedy Festival from June 9 is also going ahead with social distancing.

But Kendall Calling, which had been take place at Lowther Deer Park in Cumbria from  July 29 to  August 1 has today been called off. It was to have featured a strong comedy line-up with Stereophonics, Supergrass, The Streets and Dizzee Rascal set to headline the main stage,
