Brighton's Komedia launches new comedy award

But the prize is just a bottle of 'fizz'

One of Britain’s biggest comedy clubs has announced a new act competition, with just a bottle of ‘fizz’ as the prize.

Entries open for Brighton Komedia’s New Comedy Award open on Monday, with entrants initially asked to submit videos.

The top 32 will be invited to take part in semi-finals in January ahead of a final, hosted by Angela Barnes, on February 11.

The winner also gets a slot on the venue’s  Comic Boom night. Jill Edwards, who runs the night, said: ‘I love supporting and encouraging exciting new original comic voices.’

Entries will be accepted here.
