Dead Ringers to play the Edinburgh Fringe

Debut for Radio 4's impression show

The team behind Radio 4’s Dead Ringers have announced a run of dates at the Edinburgh Fringe

Impressionists Jon Culshaw, Jan Ravens, Lewis MacLeod and Duncan Wisbey will be at the EICC for the first two weeks of the festival – the first time they have performed on the Fringe.

The news comes two weeks after Ravens pulled out of her solo show – after finding that writing the ‘soul-baring’ material reopened old wounds

She said: ’Doing a show which was a combination of memoir and impressions caused me to revisit the traumatic after-effects of a near-fatal illness in the family.  I embarked on the project thinking it might have brought some healing or catharsis, and in fact, the opposite seemed to be the case’

The Dead Ringers team performed their first live shows outside of their radio recordings at the Barbican last month, attracting a four-star review from The Times.

They will be at Pleasance @ EICC from August 2 to 13 at 6.30pm. It is a late addition to the programme, which already boasts 1,448 shows in the comedy section alone. Browse our listings here.
