Lifetime achievement award for comic

Barry Cryer has been awarded this year’s lifetime achievement award by the British Music Hall Society.

The veteran comic was presented with the award – an engraved gavel and block as used by a music hall chairmen – by society chairman Adam Borzone.

The event – held by Roy Hudd, who has been the society’s president for 25 years  – was held at Brick Lane Music Hall in East London

Last year’s recipient of the lifetime achievement award  was Sir Ken Dodd.
