The Infinite Show aims to have long-lasting effects...

Mark Watson has announced a 53-date national tour for 2018.

The Infinite Show is about empathy, with the title referring to his aim of ensuring the evening stays with his audience for longer than the time he is on stage.

Blurb for the tour reads: ‘Inspired by the basically shocking state of the world his children are growing up in, and a genuine, urgent desire to do something about it, Watson’s new show is about empathy. 99 percent of the world's population is made up of other people: why can't we understand them?’

Watson, who’s recent TV appearances include Taskmaster and The Island with Bear Grylls, will launch the show at the Edinburgh Fringe.

After one date in Jersey in December, the tour kicks off properly in his birthplace of Bristol on February 3. The full schedule, including box office links, is here – and the first tickets have gone on sale today.

Last year it was announced that Watson’s  graphic novel Dan and Sam had been optioned by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, and a feature film is now in development.
