Distribution deal for Amy Schumer's next movie
Amy Schumer’s next film has landed a distribution deal at the Cannes Film Festival.
In I Feel Pretty, the comedian plays a woman whose feelings of inadequacy suddenly disappear when she awakes confident and believing herself beautiful.
The premise considers what happens to her empowerment once she realises her appearance never changed.
Under the new deal, the film – which starts shooting in Boston this summer – is guaranteed to be released on 2,000 screens.
Adam Fogelson of distributors STX Films, said: ‘Amy is a spectacularly talented comedienne and actress and this story could not be more perfectly suited to her incisive observational skills and humour.
‘We are excited to be working with her and we love adding I Feel Pretty to STX’s growing list of female-driven comedies.’
The script is by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, who together wrote last year’s How to Be Single, 2012’s The Vow and the story for 2010’s Valentine’s Day.
