Brum, Brum! Joe Lycett's off on his travels
The week's best comedy on TV, radio and streaming
Our pick of the comedy on TV, radio and streaming this week…:
Sunday April 20
THE CANCELLATION OF Kenny Everett: Following last week's show about Benny Hill, 5 turns its attention to Kenny Everett, who often flirted with controversy. In 1970 he was fired from his job at the BBC for making an accusatory comment about a government minister's wife, and received backlash for his vocal support of Margaret Thatcher and the conservative party. Was it all done in the best possible taste? As well as his feather-ruffling, the show explores the comic's struggle with his own identity. 5, 9pm
Monday April 21
RICHARD OSMAN'S HOUSE OF GAMES: A rerun of the week in which comedian Jenny Eclair took on Strictly dancer Dianne Buswell, former sprinter Adam Gemili and broadcaster Owain Wyn Evans. Australia also gets a homegrown adaptation from today, hosted by comedian Claire Hooper and with fellow stand-ups Peter Helliar and Geraldine Hickey competing in the first week. But there's been no news yet as to whether any UK platform will air it. BBC Two, 6pm
Tuesday April 22
JOE LYCETT’S UNITED STATES OF BIRMINGHAM: Last year the comedian travelled across North America visiting all the places called Birmingham in a quest to unite them all with his hometown via a treaty of friendship. The trip, stretching from Canada's Saskatchewan province, down the East Coast, through the Midwest and into the Deep South, resulted in this four-part series… Sky Max, 9pm
Friday April 25
HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU: Angela Rippon is host, with panellists Jo Brand and Richard Osman joining team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop. BBC One. 9pm
