Katherine Ryan to launch a podcast about ageing

Guest will have a blood test to determine their 'biological' age

Katherine Ryan wants blood from the guests on her new podcast - literally.

Famous faces joining the comedian on her new series, What's My Age Again? have to undergo a blood test before getting to the recording. The idea is to determine their ‘biological age’, as opposed to their chronological age.

The results – based measuring the  inflammation in your system  –   lead to discussions about how we age, what it really means to ‘feel your age,’ fears and positives about aging, and the quirky habits guests may have in the pursuit of health and longevity…

Ryan said: ‘In a beauty-obsessed society that rewards aesthetic youth, what about the far more impactful biological vitality?

‘As a pretty clean-living autoimmune disease sufferer with loads of inflammation, I’m excited to be investigating cutting-edge technology that tests glycolic age with a mix of my celebrity friends.

‘Are they biologically older or younger than they think they are? What can we all be doing differently to extend our lives? Who will be willing to give me their actual blood for a podcast?’

In the first episode Irish comedian and podcaster Joanne McNally takes the test, while future guests include Olivia Attwood, Adam Buxton, Jill Scott, Bryony Gordon, Dame Sheila Hancock, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Alastair Campbell and Dame Denise Lewis.

The podcast also features Dr Nichola Conlon, a specialist in longevity and cellular ageing, to interpret the results.

Launching on April 22 and created and produced by Henrietta Harrison, What’s My Age Again? will be part of the Bauer Media Audio stable of podcast.

Lucie Cave, its chief creative officer, said: ‘Katherine has always had a unique ability to blend humour with meaningful conversation, and this podcast takes that to a whole new level.

‘The concept of measuring glycolic age is groundbreaking, and with Katherine’s wit and her celebrity guests, we believe it will be an engaging, entertaining, and educational experience for listeners. It’s truly a perfect match, and I know listeners are going to love this innovative new show.’
