Bill Burr announces London date
Apollo gig in July
Bill Burr has announced a UK date this summer.
The American comic will play London’s Eventim Apollo on July 9, with tickets on general sale at 10am on Friday
It comes after his latest stand-up Drop Dead Years, premiered on Hulu in the States on Friday and he is currently appearing on Broadway starring alongside Kieran Culkin and Bob Odenkirk in David Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross.
Drop Dead Years stars with Burr reflecting on how he got into stand-up, saying: ‘It’s kind of a weird thing to be over 50 and realise how fucked up you are.
‘Like, I thought I did stand-up because I loved comedy. And then what I really figured out is that, no, that’s not why I did it. I did stand-up because that was the easiest way to walk into a room full of a bunch of people that I didn’t know and make everybody like me.
‘All of the way I’ve moved through the world has always been like, "Where’s the place I have the least chance of being hurt?"’
