LONDON: Leicester Square Theatre hosts Reel Laughs, a benefit for the Film and TV Charity, which helps with such issues as mental health, abuse at work and financial help, The ace line-up includes Glenn Moore, Kati, Lucy Beaumont and Rosie Jones.

Wednesday March 12

GLASGOW: The city's 19-day comedy festival gets under way – and it's the biggest yet with more than 550 shows. Among those paying a visit are Russell Kane, Jenny Eclair, Andy Zaltzman, Jamali Maddix, Catherine Bohart, Jimeoin, and Felicity Ward as well as Scottish acts including Susie McCabe, Fern Brady and Larry Dean. Tonight's a good night for politics wonks, as the many shows include Matt Forde's new tour and former SNP MP Mhairi Black.

BIRMINGHAM: Texan-born, London-based comic Kemah Bob kicks off her first UK tour, described as ‘an incredibly silly woman's glamorous journey to her own personal hell and back' and covering bipolar disorder, financial ruin and extortion. YORK: The penultimate Student Comedy Award semi-final in the Mickelgate Social sees ten more up-and-coming comedians vie for a place in the final – and on the prestigious comedy arena at Latitude Festival. Tickets

NEWCASTLE: Louise Young starts a short tour of her best newcomer nominated show Feral with a hometown gig at Tyne Theatre. Saturday March 15

DUBLIN: American comedian Tom Segura – who has five Netflix comedy specials to his name – starts a short tour this side of the Atlantic of his new show, Come Together. He also co-hosts the Your Mom's House podcast with his wife, fellow comedian Christina Pazsitzky, and Two Bears One Cave with Bert Kreischer. After tonight's gig at the 3Arena, he visits Belfast., Manchester, London, Glasgow, Nottingham and Cardiff.

LONDON: There's a great line-up at the Boat Show comedy club, on the Tattershall Castle, a paddle steamer permanently moored on Embankment, including the intense Dan Tiernan, middle-class angst bucket Hal Cruttenden, up-and-coming Lily Phillips, and the personable Rich Wilson.
