It's Kiss McCausland

Comic channels his icon for this week's Strictly

Chris McCausland pulled himself up from the bottom of the Strictly leaderboard - but only just.

The viewers' favourite shared the penultimate position with Sam Quek, both scoring 29 points from judges. But they were well clear of last-placed Pete Wick, with just 22 points.

Despite the low placement McCausland won praises from judges for the tango he and Dianne Buswell danced to Rock and Roll All Nite by Kiss in tonight's 'icons' show.

Craig Revel Horwood told the comedian his 'sidestep was out of time, needs to be smoother and less stompy but you travelled well across the floor and frame improving'.

Motsi Mabusi said the McCausland was looking 'more comfortable' with 'great spine and head movements.

Shirley Ballas said his 'staccato timing [was] off the charts' while Anton Du Beke praised them as 'marvellous... a joy to watch' despite them making a small mistake at the end.

Miranda in Strictly

Miranda Hart also made an appearance on this week's show, surprising her former co-star Sarah Hadland during rehearsals. The comic has been tipped as a future Strictly contestant.

Hadland scored a 37 for her dance to Madonna's Like A Prayer, leaving her and pro dancer  Vito Coppola third on the leaderboard.
