Kemah Bob announces first tour
Kemah Bob is to embark on her first tour with her show Miss Fortunate.
She has announced UK dates in March and April, following a four-night run at London’s Soho Theatre from November 6.
Texan-born, London-based Bob said today: ‘I’m so proud of this show and can’t wait to keep spreading the word that life is gunna life, brains are gunna brain, and that’s okay!’
Her show was one of ten nominated for the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Award for best newcomer this year’s Fringe. Producers Berks’ Nest describe it as ‘an incredibly silly woman's glamorous journey to her own personal hell and back.’
The show covers bipolar disorder, financial ruin and extortion, and in an interview with The Guardian today, the comic admitted: ‘I worried that the mental health element would deter people’ but added that with the help of director Desiree Burch ‘we created something that doesn’t shy away from the darkness, while also being quite silly, quite fun’.
Bob’s TV credits include QI, House Of Games and The Island.
• It was announced today that Suzi Ruffell’s stand-up show Snappy is to be released on November 18 by 800 Pound Gorilla Media. It will be available to rent on their website.
