Comic wows again in Strictly's movie week

Chris McCausland came sixth in the Strictly leaderboard for the third week running last night – and again judges were full of praise for the comedian.

He and professional partner Dianne Buswell scored 30 out of 40 with his Wayne’s World-inspired performance for the show’s movie week.

The pair adopted the personas of Garth and Wayne from the hit 1992 film – which the comic saw before he lost his sight - to dance a jive that brought the crowd to their feet.

Even usually mean judge Craig Revel-Horwood conceded ‘you can dance’ and awarded the pair 8 points : ‘Strong at kickball changes, they’re a little bit heavy for my liking, but it was full, packed full of fantastic rhythm.’

Motsi Mabuse gave them 7 and said: ‘I’m impressed, timing was spot-on' but pointed out 'two tiny hesitations' at the end.

Shirley Ballas also awarded 7 for their ‘unbelievable musicality, lovely footwork and very good jive action’

Anton Du Beke gave eight points, branding the dance 'marvellous and joyous’.

The pair acknowledged the praise with suitable ‘we’re not worthy!’ bows.

Before dancing to the Wayne’s World theme, McCausland said of the jive: ‘It's so fast and it doesn't stop! You've got to make your body move in ways it doesn't normally.’
