HATE THY NEIGHBOUR: Jamali Maddix's 2017 Vice TV series comes to U&Dave and streaming services U. And seven years on his look at the rise of te far-right around the world is sadly still more relevant than ever. IAN SMITH IS STRESSED: The comic makes his first Radio 4 stand-up series all about the things that set him on edge. Across four episodes, Smith explores the stresses of coming from The North, having a body, being in love and going on holiday. And to address it he's visited a cow-hugging farm, attended a topless body painting event, dunked himself into an ice bath and attempted to land a passenger plane with no training (in a flight simulator, it's health and safety gone mad). The series is loosely based on the comedian's Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated Fringe show Crushing. Radio 4, 6.30pm.
THE Lovely Boys TALK GOOD: A new four-part sketch series from the comedy duo of Ben Cohen and Will Robbins, transferring to Radio 4 after amassing 300 million views on social media. Characters will include the delusional Branch Power. all-American life coach, Bear Grylls Surviving Divorce and the cringe yet endearing Bristolian activist beat poets Tree Sap and Lil’ Acorns. The pair said: 'We were bored of topical sketches inspired by the news, we wanted to make fun, feel-good comedy with no particular message. We love creating sketches that make people feel something. Our inspirations include Airplane, Naked Gun and Dumb & Dumber.' Radio 4, 11pm.
Thursday August 8
Friday August 9
