Comic to play the narrator in touring production

Comic Nathan Caton is to be the narrator in a new touring production of the Rocky Horror Show.

The stand-up joins headliner Jason Donovan in Richard O’Brien’s enduring 1970s rock ‘n’ roll musical

He said: ‘I am incredibly excited to be part of this production. The Rocky Horror Show is a legendary piece of theatre and I look forward to bringing my own spin to the narrator. It’s going to be a wild, fun and unforgettable ride. I can’t wait!"

Caton has been gigging since the age of 19 – winning the Chortle Student Comedy Award back in 2005 and has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and, Russell Howard’s Good News, among others.

He will perform in venues including Bromley – where the tour kicks off on August 19 – High Wycombe, Fareham, Malvern, Bath, York, Glasgow, Cardiff, Woking, Blackpool, and Sheffield.

Previous stars to have taken the role of narrator include Nicholas Parsons, Steve Punt, Windsor Davis, Rhona Cameron (the first female narrator), Dom Joly and Stephen Fry.

Donovan shares the role of Frank-n-Furter with West End stars Stephen Webb and Adam Strong, depending on the venue.
