GLASGOW: The city's two-and-a-half week international comedy festival kicks off, with more than 500 performances taking place across 50 venues. Opening night highlights include oddball Sam Campbell's Wobservations tour at The Garage and musical comedy divas Fascinating Aida at the Kings. Check out the official website for more.

LONDON: BBC Radio 1Xtra hosts a comedy gala at the Hackney Empire featuring the best in black stand-up, recorded for later broadcast. It's hosted by Eddie Kad and on the bill are Babatunde Aléshé,i, Kane Brown, Kyrah Gray, Michael Odewale, Ola Labib, Slim, Thanyia Moore and Gbemi Oladipo.

Thursday March 14

LONDON: From Mischief Theatre, the people behind the Goes Wrong show, comes another broad slapstick-y comedy now hitting the West End. In Mind Mangler, Henry Lewis plays a hapless, pompous mentalist and Jonathan Sayer his put-upon assistant. It arrives at the Apollo Theatre having launched at the 2022 Fringe (Review) and toured the UK. Tickets available here.

Saturday March 16

ST ANDREWS: Janey Godley starts a run of Scottish dates, built around the screening of her documentary, Janey, about her continuing her comedy shows as she undergoes cancer treatment. The events feature a Q&A and stand-up linked to the film as well as the screenings, and come ahead of a full tour later this year. Janey Godley tour dates.
