Comedy stars join BBC sitcom Daddy Issues
A host of familiar comedy names have joined the cast of new BBC Three comedy Daddy Issues.
They include My Mad Fat Diary, Sharon Rooney, Miranda’s Sarah Hadland, Tom Stourton from Stath Lets Flats and Susannah Fielding, Steve Coogan's co-star on This Time with Alan Partridge.
The casting news comes as producers Fudge Park, the team behind The Inbetweeners – reveal the first images of its stars Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey on set.
Sex Education star Wood plays 24-year-old Gemma, who discovers she’s pregnant after a random hook-up and is left with no choice but to turn to her hapless father Malcolm for support.
Also joining the cast are David Fynn – Alex in flashback scenes in Am I Being Unreasonable? – Taj Atwal from Hullraisers, Sherrie Hewson from Benidorm and Arian Nik, who took the title role in the recent ITV comedy Count Abdulla.
It is rounded out bu Susan Lynch (Sex Education), Lauren O'Rourke (Henpocalypse), Cyril Nri (Death in Paradise), Cora Kirk (Grantchester), Perry Fitzgerald (Line of Duty), Claire Keelan (The Trip), Damien Molony (Brassic), and two-thirds of the Penny Dreadfuls sketch trio: Humphrey Ker and David Reed
No broadcast date has yet been set for the six half-hour episodes, which have been written by former stand-up Danielle Ward.
