Kiri Pritchard-McLean announces Peacock tour

...about her other life as a foster parent

Kiri Pritchard-McLean has announced more than 70 dates of her new show Peacock.

The show is about her life away from comedy as a foster carer, where she uses a different name - ‘Louise’ – and hasn’t told the kids in her care that she’s a comedian.

Alastair Cope, head of Foster Wales, said: ‘t’s fantastic to see our foster carer, Kiri, positively promoting fostering during her UK tour. It will really help increase awareness of foster care, and challenge false perceptions around what it takes to be a foster carer.

We hope that through Kiri candidly sharing her fostering journey, people will recognise skills and qualities in themselves and consider putting in an enquiry to foster’.’

Pritchard-McLean – a double nominee in this year’s Chortle awards –  says the tour comes after ‘a couple of the eggiest gigs of her career in boardrooms to social workers’ – but also after hosting Live at the Apollo and fronting the Radio 4 panel show Best Medicine.

The show was directed by Adam Drake, the comic who performs as Goose and as part of the Tarot sketch group, which Pritchard-McLean writes and directs for.

Peacock runs from May through to December and during the tour she will be collecting pens and pencils for the grassroots charity Pens For Kids which distributes the equipment to children in need.
