EDINBURGH: Talented stand-ups Pierre Novellie and Garrett Millerick both record specials for US label 800 Pound Gorilla at Monkey Barrel tonight It's a bargain £10 to see both shows, and there are two double-bill recordings at 4pm and 7.30pm. Tickets.

THORINGTON: A delightful 'under the stars' stand-up gig in the Suffolk countryside tonight features former Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Rose Matafeo, Mock The Week regulars Ivo Graham and Rhys James, and French funnywoman Celya AB.

LONDON: Meanwhile, in a more high-profile outdoor gig, Tim Key brings his uplifting - yet self-centred - lockdown show Mulberry to Regent's Park Open Air Theatre.

CARDIFF: The fact this is not a comedy gig couldn't be more plain. Yet we suspect a few comedy fans would be interested in An Unfunny* Evening With Tim Minchin And His Piano, offering songs from his 2020 studio album, Apart Together, from his musicals, Matilda and Groundhog Day, from his TV and film writing, and perhaps even some from his early songwriting days. He's announced a dozen such dates around the UK and Ireland, starting at Cardiff's New Theatre tonight, as well as several sold-out dates in London's West End. LONDON: The Big Pitch is a comedy night set in a fictional creative agency in which comedians pitch advertising ideas to the audience. Those giving 100 per cent, thinking outside the box and running their suggestions up the Bloomsbury Theatre flagpole include John Kearns, Bec Hill (pictured), Bilal Zafar, Eleanor Morton, Harriet Kemsley, Joz Norris, Mark Silcox and Adam Larter,

NORWICH: The city's Laugh In The Park festival moves from Chapelfield Gardens to Earlham Park. Ed Byrne headlines tonight with the vivacious Amy Gledhill and circuit stalwart John Mann. Tomorrow it's online star Troy Hawke, famed for his 'greeter' videos, slick Ignacio Lopez and up-and-coming Tatty Mcleod.

Friday June 9

MARGATE: The Kent resort has a mini-Fringe festival this weekend, kicking off with a showcase tonight at the Tom Thumb theatre featuring the highly acclaimed Jordan Brookes alongside Alison Spittle, Bilal Zafar and Charlie George.
