Pop star turned vicar turned broadcaster turned novelist hits the road

Reverend Richard Coles is set to embark on his first national tour.

The broadcaster and former clergyman and member of The Communards, has today announced that he will playing 29 dates around the country from September 7.

He has been a stalwart of the after-dinner speaking circuit, and the new show – Borderline National Trinket – is described as ‘a warm, witty, gossipy evening of comedy and chat’.

The former vicar, whose credits include Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Masterchef, recently stepped down as host of Radio 4’s Saturday Live and last year hung up his cassock at the age of 60. He has also become a bestselling murder-mystery writer.

Coles was the inspiration for the main character in the hit BBC comedy Rev, a programme for which he also served as consultant.

Rosie Jones has also today announced 22 new tour dates for the autumn of her tour, Triple Threat, which was last month nominated for most outstanding show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Rosie Jones tour dates.
