Comic's podcast and Radio 4 series to return

Jayde Adams’s comedy show Welcome To The Neighbourhood is to return to Radio 4 for second series.

The show, originally conceived as a podcast, looks at community apps and message boards across the UK with celebrity guests.

Those lined up for season two include Nick Grimshaw, Self Esteem and Isy Suttie, who will likke at local incidents including a  front door in Manchester being attacked with salad cream; a chicken mysteriously disappearing in Surrey; and a person in Bristol turning on his neighbours, suspicious at the rate that his milk is going off…

Adams – who will soon be seen in the Take That film musical Greatest Days – said the show would be ‘another fantastic season of nosing around neighbourhood spats and disagreements with some of my favourite people, tanding back and watching the general public descend into chaos over bin days and freecycling.’

‘I thought being in the Take That movie was the job of a lifetime, but season two of Welcome To The Neighbourhood, take a bow.’

The second series will drop as a boxset of ten episodes on BBC Sounds on May 26 and will then be broadcast at 2:45pom each Friday on BBC Radio 4.

The series is produced by Jon Holmes, former Now Show regular and creator of the  Radio 4 satire The Skewer. He said: ‘It’s a joy to have the magnificent Jayde back for another series as she continues to rake through the hilarious real-life online postings of the nation’s most belligerent neighbours. Not so much Neighbourhood Watch, as a Neighbourhood Must-Listen.’
