New podcasts for Daisy May Cooper, Lolly Adefope and Dara O Briain

Plus the return of Alan Partridge, Kurupt Fm, French & Saunders and Jack Whitehall

Daisy May Cooper, Lolly Adefope and Dara O Briain are to host their first podcasts.

The comics’ new shows have been announced today as part of a new slate of programming coming to the Audible platform.

The company also revealed the return of From The Oasthouse: The Alan Partridge Podcast, The Kurupt FM Podkast, French and Saunders: Titting About and Jack Whitehall’s Safe Space.

And it confirmed the previously announced Mo Gilligan’s Spotlight showcasing up-and-coming stand-up talent, recorded at Up The Creek in Greenwich, South London.

In Cooper’s first podcast, Educating Daisy, the This Country star invites celebrity guests including Tim Key, Diane Morgan and Katie Price, to try to convince her to give their favourite classic novel a try. But as she hates reading (‘…apart from Take A Break magazine’) they get mixed results.

In Lolly Adefope’s Fanmail, the actress and character comedian invites her fans and celebrities to ask important questions like: ‘Why do you love me so much?’ and ‘what is it about me that you love so much?’ The series is produced by Steve Coogan’s production company, Baby Cow.

O Briain will host the new panel show format Timewasters, in which fellow comics offer upstories of when their lives and time have been most comprehensively wasted – from weeks sunk on failed fitness fads, to hours frittered away on property websites angrily drooling over homes you will never live in…

Also coming to Audible Plus are a number of stand-up specials, including shows by Noel Fielding, Stewart Lee, Jo Brand and Eddie Izzard,

Aurelie de Troyer, Audible’s head of UK content at Audible, said: ‘Audible is shaping up to be the home of comedy in 2023. ‘Alongside our existing critically-acclaimed and award-winning slate, we’re delighted to be investing in both up-and-coming voices, as well as bringing A-list British comic talent to our audience.’

The new podcasts will all launch this spring, with individual title launch dates to be revealed later.

UPDATE: Audible was being bizarrely coy about launch dates given Timewasters and series 3 of The Kurupt FM podcast are available now.
