...but comic says she now feels recovered from her 'tests and trials'

Miranda Hart says she’s been through some dark times over a ‘very unexpected’ decade of her life.

The comedian did not go into details about her troubles, but says she will reveal more about her ‘difficult’ experiences in her new book, I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You.

She has posted a video message to her 1million Instagram followers, promoting the title – which is out in October – saying she had overcome the ‘surprising challenges.’

Holding up a copy, she said: ‘‘I'm honest in here about well, there's so much I could say, but I'm just gonna say this...

‘I've been through a very unexpected decade in my life, and they've been some surprising and incredible joys, but also some really difficult, equally surprising challenges. All the tests and trials I've been through are in here when you buy it.

‘But I'm here, I'm intact, I got through it so I’m sharing the treasures that I learned in darkness and the things that helped me to live and feel like I am free and joyful and peaceful and physically recovered in a way I never thought possible.

‘There’s always hope I suppose. Whatever you might be going through at this time. None of us go through life without some testing or trials, do we?'

On a more upbeat note, she ended the video by teasing that the book contains a love story.

In the official blurb for the book, 51-year-old Hart says that her experiences means ‘I was forced to get still and research and study many good and wise scientists, physiologists, neuroscientists, even the odd sociologist’ – whose advice she has distilled for readers.

But she also  insists that there is some fun to the book, too.

The comedian – whose self-titled BBC sitcom ran for three seasons from 2009 –  has previously been open about suffering  from anxiety. In a previous book she wrote: ‘Life during times of acute anxiety has been like wading through treacle and on bad days getting to the end of the street to post a letter was hard, such was the extreme level of fear in my body.’
