Revealed: Which comedians are taking part

Stand-up showcase Comedy Central Live is to return for a second series.

The first of 40 new five-minute shows will drop on the broadcaster’s digital channels on Monday, with the rest released in weekly instalments.

Comics taking part include newly crowned British Comedian of the Year Dan Tiernan, Britain’s Got Talent winner Axel Blake and Edinburgh Fringe best newcomer Lara Ricote.

Others who filmed sets for the show include Helen Bauer, Ola Labib, Daniel Foxx, Kemah Bob, Kyrah Gray, Evelyn Mok and Pierre Novellie.

The series was shot by Off the Kerb Productions across four nights in October at the Pleasance Theatre in Islington, North London.

Kelly Bradshaw, a senior vice president of MTV Entertainment Brands International, Comedy Central’s parent company, said: ‘It’s key for us that our content uncovers the best emerging talent and introduces them to our audiences around the world– and Comedy Central Live is a prime example of that.

‘The format’s powerful combination of giving a platform to developing talent via digital-first episodes has proved a smash hit with our global viewers, and we can’t wait for them to see the huge names and hilarious jokes that series two has in store.’

The first series of Comedy Central Live ran over much of last year. Comedy Central’s UK YouTube channel has 2million subscribers.
