Sean Lock left £4million

Comic's estate held in trust for his family

Sean Lock left just over £4 million to his family, probate records have revealed.

The comic’s estate goes to his wife, Anoushka, and their three children – two  daughters and a son. His will stipulated the estate, should be held in a trust for them, according to widespread reports this morning.

Lock died in August last year at the age of 58, causing shock and grief in the comedy world, as he had kept his lung cancer secret from colleagues.

Among those who paid tribute at the time was  Dara O Briain, who called him ‘a true original both in comedy and life’, and Eddie Izzard who hailed his ‘wonderful comedic talent’

And his 8 Out Of 10 Cats Do Countdown co-star Jon Richardson added: ‘I idolised Sean as a comic long before I became a comedian myself and ten years working alongside him didn’t diminish that in the least. An incredible comic brain and a truly unique voice.’

This summer,  Bill Bailey did a 100-mile walk along a section of the South West Coast Path in aid of his close friend, raising more than £135,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
