Munya Chawawa and Yung Filly host spin-off for BBC's new extreme reality show

Internet comics Munya Chawawa and Yung Filly are to host a companion show for BBC One’s latest reality show Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof.

The main show –  fronted by Holly Willoughby and Lee Mack –  will put celebrities through a series of physically and mentally demanding challenges in sub-zero temperatures, having been trained by Dutch extreme athlete Wim Hof.

And today it has been announced that each episode will be accompanied by the BBC Three spin-off, Munya and Filly Get Chilly.

Chawawa - who was voted best breakthrough performer at the National Comedy Awards last week – punned: ‘When the BBC cold me about this show, ice said: "there's snow way I'm doing that!" However, I'm gonna go out on a Wim and say it's one of the best things I've ever done; good luck taking your eyes Hof the screen!’

Yung Filly added: ‘I had a great opportunity to not only create some of the greatest content I have done to date but to also create memories I will cherish for the rest of life.’

The celebrities taking part are musical theatre star Alfie Boe, songwriter and footballer Chelcee Grimes, Strictly professional dancer Dianne Buswell, TV presenter Gabby Logan, Welsh weatherman and drummer Owain Wyn Evans, former captain of France’s football national team Patrice Evra, rapper Professor Green and actress Tamzin Outhwaite.

The BBC Three sister show will be filmed in the same tented village where the celebrities are staying, and will involve Munya and Filly tackling the challenges themselves.

BBC Three controller Fiona Campbell said of the presenters: ‘Both are top comedy talents that we’re really happy to work with.’

Both shows air this spring.
