Mo Gilligan pilots BBC gameshow
Mo Gilligan is working on a British version of the comedy gameshow That's My Jam for the BBC.
The comedian has shot a pilot episode of the show, which features celebrities competing in music-themed challenges.
Jimmy Fallon hosts the US version, which is a spin off from his Tonight Show and features games such as Air Guitar and Wheel of Impossible Karaoke.
That's My Jam will launch on NBC in the States January, having been delated by the pandemic, although a preview episode aired in November featuring Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. It became the top-rated new unscripted launch on American broadcast TV this year.
According to trade website Broadcast, the UK version is being developed by CPL, makers of the sports-based A League of Their Own and film-based There’s Something About Movies – so a music show would be a natural fit.
Gilligan hosted a pilot episode of the show, which is not meant for broadcast. If picked up, it would be the comedian’s first major role for the BBC, having come to widespread prominence via Channel 4.
That's My Jam follows Sky’s revival of Never Mind The Buzzcocks, with Greg Davies at the helm and Daisy-May Cooper, Noel Fielding and Jamali Maddix as the regulars.
