ALONG FOR THE RIDE WITH DAVID O'DOHERTY: In this new series, comedian and cycling enthusiast David O'Doherty takes celebrity guests on rides around some of the most beautiful parts of the UK. THE EXPLODING LIBRARY: In this new literature series, comedians unravel their favourite cult books, paying homage to the tone and style of the original text - and blurring the lines between fact and fiction. In the first episode, Mark Watson examines the strange and fantastical world of The Third Policeman by the Irish author Flann O’Brien, described by one critic as ‘a nightmarish piece of Irish rural sci-fi where people turn into bicycles and policemen talk in non-sequiturs about quantum physics’. The other episodes in the three-part series feature Josie Long looking at Good Morning, Midnight by Jean Rhys and Daliso Chaponda on Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut. Radio 4, 11.30am
