Another Radio 4 special for Henry Normal

Poet and ex-TV producer to discuss ageing

Henry Normal is recording another of his Radio 4 specials mixing poetry, jokes and monologues.

The new episode will cover ageing from the perspective of a man in the autumn of his life, when things are ‘going a different colour and dropping off’.

It is the eighth instalment in the occasional series in which 65-year-old Normal previously tackled the big issues of family, life, love, imagination, nature, the universe and communication.

Five years ago, Normal returned to his first love of poetry following an illustrious career as a TV producer, running the Baby Cow company with Steve Coogan. His credits as writer and producer include The Royle Family, The Mrs Merton Show, Philomena, Gavin and Stacey and Alan Partridge.

A Normal... Ageing is being recorded at the Playhouse in Stratford-upon-Avon next Thursday. Free audience tickets are available from the BBC.
