Jordan Brookes announces 2022 tour
Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Jordan Brookes has announced a new tour for 2022.
Fix is about fixing yourself, as well as fixating on minor things – and takes its cue from a negative comment he received two years ago.
In an interview with London’s Evening Standard to announce the tour, he explains: ‘ The premise is that I was slagged off by someone in 2019. I’m using a very trivial incident as a starting point to explore how we’ve become so dependent on other people’s opinions of us that someone saying something awful can destroy us so quickly.’
The often offbeat comic says it’s his most accessible show yet, but adds: ‘I’ve always considered my act mainstream. The challenge is taking an audience along with you with stuff that they do relate to but it is tapping into something they might not necessarily be comfortable with about themselves.'
‘I want them to be on the edge of their seat, but relaxed on the edge of their seat.’
The tour kicks off with a three-week run at London’s Soho Theatre on May 23, before hitting the road in September and October.

Brookes won the main comedy award at Edinburgh in 2019 – and with no festival in 2020 and no accolade being handed out at this year’s greatly reduced Fringe, can lay claim to be competition’s the ‘longest reigning’ winner.
The blurb for the show reads: ‘No sudden meteor strike. No thrilling zombie apocalypse. Just a gradual ebbing away of life as you knew it.
‘Do you fight to fix things before it gets worse, dedicating your life to making the world around you better? Nah. You close your curtains, hunker down and fixate over something shitty someone said to you in 2019.’
