Maisie Adam joins ITV2's The Cabin
Stand-up Maisie Adam is to provide the voiceover for ITV’s new dating show, The Cabin.
The news has been announced just days before the show - which has already been dubbed ‘the new Love Island’ - starts on ITV2 next Monday.
Writing on Twitter, the comic says: ‘Anyone who knows me knows I bloody LOVE a dating show, so I’m over the moon to be providing the voice in your ears for this brilliant show - I can’t wait for you all to see it!’
In the show couples will move in to cosy log cabins together as soon as they meet, and try to get to know each other over 24 hours.
Adam added: ‘After spending most of the year staying inside, this is going to be both strangely relatable for everyone yet also absolutely wild as first dates go, Besides, I ran out of things to say to my housemates back in May, so it’s been nice to gossip about this lot in a room on my own!’
Paul Mortimer, ITV's head of digital channels, has previously said: ‘This is a fantastic new format which challenges young people to delete the apps and attempt to date face-to-face, with no distractions.’
Yorkshire-born Adam won the Gilded Balloon’s So You Think You're Funny? competition at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe and was nominated for best newcomer at the festival the following year.
Her previous TV appearances include Mock The Week, Have I Got News for You and QI.
Iain Stirling was catapulted to fame thanks to his voiceovers on ITV2’s Love Island, with other comics commentating on reality shows include Sophie Willan (The Circle) and Andrew Maxwell (Ex On The Beach) and Desiree Burch (Too Hot To Handle).
