Stath Lets Flats gets a US remake
Jamie Demetriou is working on an American remake of Stath Lets Flats.
The show’s creator will be executive producer on the new version, which will be renamed Bren Rents.
Comedian Joe Mande, a writer and producer on The Good Place who has a stand-up special on Netflix, will be adapting the scripts for the new project, which is in development for Fox Entertainment.
Demetriou said: ‘We’re thrilled to have Joe Mande’s brilliant brain on this project. It was such a relief to find out from him that properties are in fact funny in the US as well. Thank you, Joe Mande. Thank you, apartments and houses. Thank you, America.’
The remake is being made by original UK production company Roughcut and its managing director Ash Atalla, whose other credits include The Office and the IT Crowd.

The original version of Stath Lets Flats is available on streaming service HBO Max in the US.
