Steve Coogan mulls a big Alan Partridge live tour

'I think in the next couple of years....'

Steve Coogan is considering a new tour in the guise of Alan Partridge, for the first time in a decade.

The comedian last played the  hapless broadcaster on stage in the 2009 tour, Steve Coogan Live - As Alan Partridge And Other Less Successful Characters.

But he says he's eager to return.

'It's been a while since I've done a live show,' he told Danielle Perry on her Elevenses podcast.

'It's ten years. I miss it. I sort of do it every ten years. I think in the next couple of years I'll take a big live Alan Partridge show on the road.'

He was speaking to promote Partridge's Audible podcast, From The Oasthouse, which launches on September 3.

Partridge is also set to return for a second series of TV magazine show parody This Time as well as a 'Dimbleby-style grand sweep of British history' for the BBC.

Meanwhile, Coogan has also written a #MeToo comedy-drama with Sarah Solemani, entitled Chivalry, which is being made for Channel 4.
