Tony Britton's ring goes missing in hospital
A signet ring owned by Tony Britton went missing while the late sitcom star was in hospital, his son has said.
Jasper Britton has said he will buy back the ring, which has sentimental value, with ’no questions’ asked.
Britton, who starred in the comedies Don't Wait Up and Robin’s Nest, died at the age of 95 on Sunday.
His son said the ring went missing while the actor was in Watford General hospital in the spring, but his disappearance has only just been discovered.
He described its as an 'unbearable loss’ and offered a reward for any information. The ring was engraved with his father’s initials and designed by his second wife – Jasper’s mother – the Danish sculptor Eva Castle Britton.
Jasper tweeted the image of the ring and said: 'It’s engraved with TB and drama masks. I’ll buy it back no questions asked.
‘It holds such value to the family. He wore it in everything he did.’
West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust said they hoped the ring does reappear.
