Netflix signs up Seinfeld
Seinfeld is coming to Netflix – but not until 2021.
The platform has signed a deal for the global streaming rights to all 180 episodes over nine series, Deadline has reported.
However, it has to wait until an existing five-year US deal with Hulu expires – which was worth a reported $26million (£21million) a year.
The sitcom is currently available on Amazon Prime in the UK.
Securing Seinfeld will be a boon for Netflix, which is losing the rights to popular classics sitcoms The Office and Friends.
The platform already has a reported $100million deal with Jerry Seinfeld for Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee and two-stand-up specials,
