Jessica Knappett joins Judge Romesh
Jessica Knappett is joining the second series of Judge Romesh, the Dave channel has announced.
The comic, who was a contestant in the last series of Taskmaster, takes over from Witless star Kerry Howard as the clerk of the court. Tom Davis will return as the bailiff.
Dave confirmed the second series of Judge Romesh today – four months after Chortle first revealed the news – with the announcement that 12 half-hour episodes have been commissioned, two more than in the first series.
Romesh Ranganathan said: ‘t is great to be able to do a second series of Judge Romesh. Some may think it’s because it’s an easy job, the money’s good and I’m working with mates, but the truth is I’m purely motivated by helping people with the problems that they, for some reason, believe to be important.’
Dave channel director Luke Hales added: ‘What a pleasure, to be able to bring back Judge Romesh. His brilliance at being funny is only dwarfed by his ineptitude at all legal matters.’
The first episode of Judge Romesh attracted 500,000 viewers to the channel in August, making it Dave’s top-ranking show of the week.
