So that's why he cancelled his Edinburgh run

Hardeep Singh Kohli has  entered the Celebrity  Big Brother house.

The Scottish comic cancelled the rest of his run at the Edinburgh Fringe earlier this week, citing a mystery TV project.

And Channel Five viewers last night found at what it was, as he joined Celebrity Big Bother – reportedly was filling the place of a secret star who pulled out.

Stormy Daniels, the porn star at the centre of a legal battle with Donald Trump, had been rumoured to be taking part – and indeed the series is subtitled Eye Of The Storm.

But although there has been no sign of her yet, there was a Presidential themed task on last night’s show.

The 49-year-old comedian has previous appeared  on Celebrity MasterChef and a celebrity version of The Apprentice.

He hit the headlines in 2009 when he was dropped from the BBC's One Show  following a complaint of inappropriate behaviour from a female colleague. He ‘apologised unreservedly’ at the time, but complained he had been ‘badly treated’ by the BBC over the incident.

Hardeep is also the brother of Still Game and River City star Sanjeev Kohli.

The other housemates revealed last night are: Cheers actress Kirstie Alley,  ‘psychic’ Sally Morgan, Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett, ‘Human Ken Doll’ Rodrigo Alves,  Love Island’s Gabby Allen, The Only Way Is Essex star Dan Osborne,  ‘rogue trader’ Nick Leeson, footballer Jermaine Pennant, Ben Jardine from previous reality show Married At First Sight, US reality TV star Natalie Nunn.
