Kelsey Grammer plots a Frasier reboot
Kelsey Grammer is working on a comeback for Frasier.
The star h as been meeting with writers to come up with ideas for a reboot of the show, probably set in a new city, Hollywood website Deadline reports.
According to their report: ‘If the producers settle on a writer and a premise, the project could move beyond exploratory stage.’
And rival the Hollywood Reporter said producers CBS TV Studios were in ‘the very early stages of discussion ‘ with Grammer.
However, no official comments have been made.
A revival would follow the return of such 1990s US series as Will & Grace and Roseanne.
Frasier ran on NBC for 11 seasons, from 1993 to 2004, and also starred David Hyde Pierce as Frasier’s brother Niles, Peri Gilpin as his radio producer Roz, the late John Mahoney as his father Martin and Jane Leeves as his live-in carer – and later Niles’s wife – Daphne.
Frasier won 37 Emmy Awards, a record for a scripted series at the time.
