Susan Calman survives Strictly vote
Susan Calman has survived to dance another day.
The comedian and dance partner Kevin Clifton came bottom of the leaderboard on yesterday’s show, with just 25 points for their paso doble based on Strictly Ballroom.
Bruno Tolioli had said the performance wasn’t big enough, saying it ‘looked like a paso doble that had shrunk in the wash.'
Yet Calman’s popularity with the public saved her… and after the viewer vote she was not even required to take part in the dance-off.
In the event, Paralympian Jonnie Peacock left the show after a dance-off with Debbie McGee, once one of the favourite to win the competition.
Despite their poor showing with judges yesterday, Calman tweeted after the show: 'Bottom of the leaderboard but top of the happiness charts.’
Susan and Kevin now go on to the tenth week of the competition.
Calman will also be part of the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour when it travels around the UK next year, it was announced last week. Dates & Tickets here.
