Murder In Successville team plan a topical comedy show
A topical sketch format in which celebrities star in their own semi-improvised show is being piloted for Channel 4.
I'm A Celebrity winner and Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt will next week become the first to take part in a try-out episode, of Situation Room, which comes from the producers of celebrity improv reality show hybrid Murder In Successville.
As well as opening and closing the show as host, the guest celebrity will introduce music acts, conduct surprise interviews and participate in topical sketches – all without rehearsal or script.
Producers Tiger Aspect say: 'With costume changes at each turn, in one instant they could be a co-anchor in our news show and in the next, a contestant on a baking show, or even giving a speech to the Prime Minister in the Houses of Parliament.
'Whether they are dressed as a fantastical warrior for a Game of Thrones parody or stripped down to a shredded pair of board shorts for their trip to Bear Grylls’ Island, leading our star through this unique experience will be our troupe of the most talented impressionists, improvisers and character comedians in the country.'
Situation Room has been described as 'Saturday Night Live meets immersive theatre’, but details of the comedy talent involved have yet to be revealed.
The pilot will be recorded in front of a live studio audience at Pinewood Studios, – home to the Star Wars, James Bond and Harry Potter franchises – next Thursday. Click here to apply for free tickets.
Moffatt is currently a regular on E4’s Virtually Famous, pictured above.
