Tape Face goes to Vegas
Tape Face has secured a four-month residency in Las Vegas next year, following his success on America's Got Talent.
The silent comedy act will be performing his 75-minute act at the Flamingo Hotel in the heart of the Strip from February to May.
It follows his success making the finals of the NBC talent show in September. On the show he memorably persuaded former Spice Girl Mel B to wear a toilet seat on her head in front of a TV audience of more than 14 million, while clips of his appearances have attracted more than 45million views onYouTube.
Judge Simon Cowell compared Tape Face – whose real name is Sam Wills – to a modern-day Charlie Chaplin.
Kiwi Wills, who lives in Essex, said: ‘Vegas was always my goal. Suddenly every door was smashed open from going on that show.’
After he ends his Vegas run, he returns to London’s West End for a run at the Garrick Theatre (Tickets) and is set for a return to the Edinburgh Fringe, where he first made his name
He also told New Zealand website Stuff he has ambitions to take the two-hour show to Broadway, saying: ‘That is why I have developed this two-hour theatrical show. That is what people expect from a Broadway show. They expect something with production values.’
