THE campaign to erect a statue of Victoria Wood in her home town of Bury has reached its £20,000 target – but the comedian's brother Chris Foote Wood is now seeking a further £10,000 to transport the solid bronze statue and fix it in place. Fans are also being invited to vote on which pose should be immortalised, at £2 a time.

EMMA THOMPSON is set to star alongside Mindy Kaling in a comedy movie about a talk show host. Kaling wrote the as-yet untitled script, which has been described as 'The Devil Wears Prada meets Broadcast News.'

THE initial line-up for the next Altitude comedy festival has been announced with Terry Alderton, Zoe Lyons, Joel Dommett and Daniel Sloss among those joining founders Andrew Maxwell and Marcus Brigstocke in Mayrhofen, Austria. The event is also taking place in December (11-17th) for the first time, to coincide with Christmas festivities. Also on the bill are Craig Campbell, Glenn Wool, Andy Askins and more.

SKY 1 has announced the launch date for Harry Hill's Tea-Time. The first episode, featuring guest Paul Hollywood, will air at 6pm on Sunday October 16, just before the return of Yonderland for its third series, featuring Stephen Fry.<.B>

CHEWING GUM has been picked up by Netflix. Micahela Coel's Bafta-nominated E4 comedy will be available to subscribers from October 31.
